PCI Process

PDA DEVICE CLOSURE

PDA is a vessel which connects the Pulmonary artery to Aorta is present in the foetal life and closes after the birth of the baby. When it remains patent after the birth it leads to heart failure, recurrent chest infections and failure to
thrive in children. This can be closed non-surgically in Preterm babies, infants and children by putting a device into the ductus.

ASD DEVICE CLOSURE

No need to worry as majority of the holes in today era can be treated either by catheter-based intervention or surgically. First step is to establish the site where the hole is located , bygetting a proper echo from a pediatric cardiologistand assessing what impact it is making on the heart.

VSD DEVICE CLOSURE

Ventricular septal defect is a defect in the wall between the right and left ventricle leading to heart failure, recurrent chest infections and failure to thrive. Some of these defects can be closed non surgically by catheter based interventions.

PBAV
& PBPV

Neonates and Children with stenotic valves can be opened non-surgically by inflating a balloon across the stenotic valve. This relieves the obstruction and load on the heart.

DUCT STENTING IN NEONATES

New borns with complete obstruction of the right heart have impaired blood flow to the lungs for oxygenation. In order to restore blood to lungs, the duct is stented, deferring immediate surgery in New Born.
